COMPUTER AGE MEETS OLD AGE
(November 7, 1996)
So marks the beginning of the big green button concept. The article highlights how the founder,
Reuben Dohn
Unveiling a new model. participated in a community service project to teach seniors how to use computers. Working in that environment helped highlight how difficult electronics are for non-technical people. Discussion among more experienced members of the community resulted in the concept of a "big green button to just make things work".
Five years later, his involvement in the adoption of Wi-Fi in the educational environment revealed further technical challenges. Armed with a degree in Electrical Engineering funded by his second start-up company N-Link Graphics, he was finally in a position to do something about the usability of technology and really get to the root of the problem.
Humble beginnings
Mr. Dohn's long time love with solving problems to help others kicked into high gear while working with the WVCC solar car race team. The under-dog team's innovation lead to competing neck and neck with well heeled entries in an international race of solar-enabled vehicles. After collage he spent seven months in southern Africa volunteering on construction projects for the community. Subsequent to that he spent time in the

Endura Access PointOn the path to enable internet in vehicles, he started AquaNet Wireless in 2001 to focus on delivering internet to boats in marinas. Keying in on his strength, hardware, the company renamed to ANW Devices (AquaNet Wireless Devices) and developed the
Endura
Endura Access Point line of wireless equipment. Within a year, community interest pointed to an accessory for the Endura line which matured into the

Then, while conducting market research in west coast marinas, he met the owners of Beach Wireless. They said "This is a GREAT idea. Can it be used for RVs in campgrounds and RV parks?" - Eureka!
Solving the Problem
The next year of market research showed there was a tremendous need in the RV community to connect to the internet using Wi-Fi networks. Simply put, the structure of RVs reflect and
block radio signals
Radio signals reflect well off RVs. very well. Put an RV in a park next to other RVs and it's a recipe for frustration. Using a laptop in this scenario is difficult with a maximum range of a little over hundred feet. Most RVers end up taking their laptop up to the office to get a signal.
ANW Devices partnered up with several major RV companies and a pair of well-know fulltimers,

Not satisfied to stop at solving the technical challenge, the system was designed for easy self-installation and the clunky software interface associated with computer equipment was side-stepped in favor of a simple easy-to-use web

Louisville, KY RVIA Show 2007
To enable as many as possible to solve their internet connection problem, RV2internet worked hand-in-hand with Fleetwood RV engineers and management to develop an OEM friendly LinkGauge and no-hole roof mounting system which is only just now available on new coaches.
