What is the range of an iAntenna?
Long Range System
The iAntenna has a high power Wi-Fi radio inside its dome that is designed to connect you to high speed internet over long distances.
The range is dependent on a number of factors. Namely:
- Output power of the Wi-Fi Internet service provider in the RV park
- Obstructions between the iAntenna and the Wi-Fi network antenna.
- Location and type of antenna the service provider is using.
RVers using the iAntennas have reported connecting to networks over a mile away. While this is not always possible, it is not uncommon when connecting to a strong, well positioned Wi-Fi network in an environment clear of major obstructions.
What Kills WiFi Range?
Really, WiFi is designed for short-range use. In addition, the signals bounce off the walls of RVs keeping the signal from getting in or out just like a Faraday Cage. Finally, when a an obstruction gets between your RV and the WiFi signal, this really block the signals. The iAntenna solves all these problems with a high power radio that is easily mounted on the roof of an RV.
